As New Target’s Chief Financial Officer, Laura is responsible for the overall financial management of the company, overseeing accounting processes and related corporate functions including benefits, insurance, internal auditing, and long-term financial planning. She brings more than 25 years of finance, sales, and operations experience to the position as the co-founder of the company. She served as the company’s CEO until January 2016, when she sold a majority interest to New Target’s executive management team. She has led the company through two strategic acquisitions of related firms and the 2016 buy-in of New Target’s executive management team.
Laura co-founded New Target in 1998 with Rudi Ottina of Milan, Italy, whom she bought out in 2001. She grew the company into one of Washington, DC’s leading web development firms based on her vision of delivering the highest quality solutions and customer experience to New Target’s clients. Building an exceptional team of people to meet this challenge was the cornerstone of her vision.
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Laura is a graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut, and Columbia University in New York. She represents the fourth generation of entrepreneurs in her family. When not at the office, Laura is likely to be enjoying time at her family’s home on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, in Provence with her husband, or en route to see any one of her 5 terrific stepkids. She lives in Old Town, Alexandria, with her husband and their 3 English Pointers.
