The IBTTA website serves as a vital resource for professionals in the tolling industry, offering access to industry news, events, tools, and publications. 

IBTTA sought to improve the overall user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) of its website to better serve its members. The existing site needed enhancements in accessibility, navigation, and responsiveness, as well as the integration of new tools that could provide members with valuable insights and data. The redesign was intended to align with IBTTA’s broader rebranding effort, which included a new logo, brand guide, and color scheme.

User Experience (UX) Enhancements

  • Intuitive Navigation: The redesigned website features a well-organized menu that categorizes content into logical sections, including About Us, Membership, Events, Advocacy, Member Tools, Resources, News & Media, and Foundation.

  • TollMinerâ„¢: A powerful data visualization tool that provides members with insights into toll facilities, including all-electronic tolling (AET) start dates and facility specifics. 
  • RevFinderâ„¢: A revenue assurance tool that helps toll operators assess their toll revenue collection efficiency and benchmark against industry standards.

How we did it

Strategic Planning & Creative Collaboration:

IBTTA initiated the redesign as part of a larger rebranding effort in 2023. The project began with the creation of a new brand guide, logo, and design mockups. We worked closely with IBTTA and their design agency to refine concepts, ensuring that the final implementation was both visually compelling and functionally effective. 

Agile Web Development Approach:

We refined the features step-by-step, collaborating with IBTTA to define behavior requirements before implementation. The agile approach allowed for real-time adjustments based on client feedback, ensuring a seamless user experience. 

Component-Based Development:

We utilized Drupal 10’s Paragraphs module to create a flexible, component-driven architecture. This approach allows IBTTA to build and modify pages dynamically by selecting, placing, and reordering components with ease. Detailed functional and technical documentation ensured smooth coordination between design, development, and architecture teams. 

Enhanced CRM Integration:

We significantly improved IBTTA’s CRM integration with Microsoft Dynamics. The synchronization of committees, events, and agenda/speaker details was streamlined, providing a more seamless user experience. The new system enables better event management, improving engagement and usability for members.
