GridWise Alliance sought to build an engaging microsite featuring an interactive map that demonstrates how energy flows between generation, transmission, distribution, and the consumer. Their target audience includes their association members and individuals invested in clean energy and smart grid technologies. The primary challenge was to simplify complex scientific concepts related to energy systems and make them easily understandable by a broad audience. Additionally, the experience needed to be interactive and informative to encourage users to further explore the association’s work.Â
Because the audience is diverse—from tourists planning visits to researchers and historians seeking detailed information—the website must be accessible, visually compelling, secure, and constantly up to date.
