Content Management Systems allow non-technical members of your staff to update and manage the content of your web site via a user-friendly interface that does not necessitate any knowledge of HTML or other programming languages. We expanded our content management solutions including the creation of a client-driven user training and support group, expanded our focus to include web sites targeting Hispanic audiences, and added new talent to our team including a Client Services Manager as well as a new Finance Director -- all while launching dozens of exciting client web sites. As we grow professionally, we also are growing personally, welcoming two "New Target" babies in January 2008.

During this very special time, we thank each of you who have contributed to another wonderful year in the life of New Target. We wish you happiness, health and peace during this holiday season and throughout the New Year.

New Target, as a premiere provider of the popular content management system Joomla!, is proud to announce the inaugural session of its Joomla! Roundtable. The purpose of the Roundtable is to provide New Target clients currently using Joomla!, or clients interested in adding Joomla! to their sites, with the opportunity to sit down with the New Target team to have their questions answered while also getting a "refresher" course on the system.

The first session will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 12:30 p.m. at New Target's offices in Old Town Alexandria. The company will host these sessions on a bi-monthly basis as a complimentary service for its clients. New Target is continually increasing its knowledge of Joomla! and will pass along this expertise at these Roundtables.

New Target recently created an innovative Association Management System for one of its clients - The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). As thought leaders strengthening the profession of Interpreting with innovative ideas for education standards, RID's web site, association management system, and business processes were far behind in innovation.

New Target worked closely with RID to build an online Association Management System customized to meet their business needs and redesigned their web site to improve the quality of services for their members.

The end result has enabled RID to steer their organization to meet the current and future needs of their members.

Several key features of this initiative include: 

• A Membership Management component to let RID staff manage their large member database from one single source
• An Ethics Management component to allow RID staff to manage their standards on the Code of Professional Conduct
• A robust Certification & Testing component that allows members and RID staff to track all aspects of Certification and Professional Development
• Management reporting that provides both RID staff and key stakeholders with in-depth information for long term strategic planning
• And finally, from the perspective of New Target and software development, Proven Software Development Lifecycle Methodology based on Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), a proven methodology that ensures an extensible solution to meet both current and future needs of RID.

For the second year in a row, New Target has been selected to design and develop the CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment conference Web site.

CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2007 will focus on integrating wireless data technologies into the enterprise and vertical business markets such as healthcare, government, automotive, retail, etc. Additionally, the show reflects the explosive growth in wireless entertainment—encompassing everything from music downloads to digital cameras to interactive games.  CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment is the most well-attended mobile data convention in the industry that attracts over 15,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors and over 600 members of the media and analyst communities.

Pete Kaiman has joined New Target as Director of Business Development.  Pete has more than 15 years of professional services experience and brings to New Target a diverse background in technology, management and finance. Pete has expertise in areas such as marketing and business development, consulting services, business and systems analysis & design, project and program management and finance & accounting. During the past 15 years Pete has held positions as Senior Technology Consultant with Renaissance Worldwide, Manager of Analysis & Design with Goco-op Inc., Program Manager with the Redmon Group and Director of Federal Business with Performance Task Group.

Two web sites designed by New Target have been nominated for Clio Awards. The Clio awards are the worlds most recognized advertising awards competition. The 48th International Clio Awards Festival will be held May 9-12 in Miami South Beach, FL.

Deloitte & Touche (Deloitte) has selected New Target to join its Federal Small Business Partner Program.  As a small, woman-owned firm, New Target will be a preferred teaming partner.

New Target will work closely with Deloitte on business development activities.  New Target will continue its core focus on web technologies and will support Deloitte's federal practice with services such as strategic planning, information architecture and Section 508 compliance, graphic design, application development, web hosting and other web services. 

Laura Machanic, President & CEO of New Target was elected as Chairman of The Eisenhower Partnership, a public/private partnership organization working to shape the growth of Alexandria's Eisenhower Valley. Laura has served on the Board of Directors for the partnership for the past 3 years.
